BYC has been established since 1939 and in that time not much has changed within the club itself, thas resulted in an environment that suits its older members only.

BYC’s completely new design and branding guidelines bring their outward appearance into a modern style to match the updates done at the club and more intuitive user experience. The driving force is to create an environment for young sailors.

UI/UX Design

The two main user groups for BYC are almost opposite in how they use the web. It would be almost impossible to reteach older members how to use a completely new system and younger members need a site that is mobile forward in design and functionality.

Members Portal

BYC is a volunteer club and streamlining that experience through online volunteer sign-up in the member portal was the number one priority for the redesign in the eyes of the board.
